GREEN & FUSCHIA---ONE OF MY FAV COLOR COMBOS!

I belive these are Bromeliads, but maybe some of you who know more about plants can tell me for sure (I will have to ask my cousin, Nola of the Alamo-North blog, who's studying to be a Master Gardener). No matter what they are...aren't they amazing!
I snapped these photos last month at Northpark Mall in Dallas, TX. It's been forever since we had been there. I think it's probably my favorite of any malls or shopping centers. It's always decorated with gorgeous plants and has that beautiful dancing fountain. And I would even be satisfied just window shopping all those great displays! All the stores are so cool! (There's even a Betsey Johnson there now!) If I lived close, I would do my walking there!

By the way, I looked up Bromeliads in Wikipedia and learned that pineapples are Bromeliads! (And I always thought they were a fruit, hee! hee!) Weird!

Have a good evening, and have sweet dreams....Patti

Patti, I love bromeliads. They are so easy to keep inside as they don't require a lot of water. In other words, they are magpie-proof! ;-)

Those are particularly pretty ones, and I didn't know that pineapples were a member of the same family... though they do look an awful lot alike. Neat info.

Hope you are having a good day. I'm out and about this morning, visiting blogging friends, and I wanted to stop by and visit you. I'm going to clean all afternoon, and in the process, take a page from my grandmother's book and sing, "In the Garden" and other old hymns and watch the work go by as I praise Him. Sounds like a plan!

XO,

Sheila

I think those are bromeliads, but I could be wrong (remember, I'm still in training, haha!)
Northpark is always so lovely; you would never guess it is as old as it is, they keep it up so well.

Those blooms are beautiful!

I know Northpark Mall, my mom used to take me there all the time as a child! Is the big fountain still there? Sweet memories. :-)

Have a wonderful Saturday!
